boundary setting: for self-preservation | June 30th, 2024

from $0.00

Self-preservation doesn't exist without boundaries. Throughout this workshop, we learn about the importance of boundary-setting, skillsets to help us identify when we need to set them, and the subsequent effects of those actions. We discuss themes like maintenance, discomfort, guilt, and joy in relation to boundaries and our sustenance.

This workshop will provide valuable learning, but beyond the traditional sense. We will hold space for engagement, story sharing, active listening, and deep reflection. Bring your whole self to the workshop and breathe easy!

Workshop Access: You’ll receive a link to the workshop an hour before the program start. Please make sure ‘hello@rootofnoor.com’ is in your email contacts & check your spam folder for the email. If you do not see the email containing the link at least 10 minutes before the workshop begins, please text me at 929-314-4505 so I can send it to you!

*A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Congolese, Palestinian, and/or Sudanese humanitarian efforts.

LEARN MORE ABOUT WHAT THE WORKSHOP ENTAILS:

PART I, THE FUNDAMENTALS & TRUTH ABOUT BOUNDARY-SETTING: In a small group, we will spend the first hour of the workshop learning the fundamentals of boundary-setting. We will deep-dive into "why" setting boundaries can pose as a challenge or difficulty to many of us, and bravely explore the truth about both the rewarding nature of setting boundaries and the sometimes adverse effects of setting them too.

PART II, LEARNING TO IMPLEMENT BOUNDARIES EVEN IN DISCOMFORT: We will shift to the application of boundary-setting. Here we'll learn techniques to help us sit through the discomfort of boundary-setting, learn the basics of how to recognize when to set a boundary, and what to do when a boundary is crossed or when we do not uphold the boundaries we have set. We'll focus on real-life tangible action steps that can be implemented in various settings.

PART III, OPEN DISCUSSION: This is an optional part of the workshop where we'll dedicate an hour for community discussions, questions, and reflections.  All participants of the workshop will be provided with a digital workbook to support the growth and application of boundary-setting skills beyond this event. This will be part of your ticket purchase and sent to you via email after the workshop is complete.
